Dr. Alcantara's research interests are diverse but focus on the safety and effectiveness pediatric chiropractic, the chiropractic care of the pregnant woman and the role of chiropractic in wellness care. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific literature as well as a served as a contributing author for several textbooks of chiropractic. He has presented his research findings at various research conferences within and outside of chiropractic such as the Association of Chiropractic Colleges and Research Agenda Conference, the World Federation of Chiropractic Conference, the PANGEA Conference on Integrative Pediatric Medicine, the American College of Nurse-Midwifery Conference, The European Chiropractic Union Congress, the Canadian Chiropractic Association Research Conference, the International Conference on Holistic Health and Medicine and the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research. Dr. Alcantara lectures extensively on chiropractic, nationally and internationally, in such countries as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Switzerland, Spain and France to name a few.
